Support at key stages of development

Services

I am an AHPRA registered occupational therapist, operating throughout the Mornington Peninsula. I’ll assess your child’s individual needs in your home and other environments, in order to focus on increasing participation within your child’s real-world setting.

How can I help?

Therapy is based on the unique needs and circumstance of each child and family, so it’s different for everyone. I might start by conducting formal or informal assessments, observing your child in different settings or just having discussions with you and others involved in your child’s care such as kinder teachers, other health care providers or child care staff. We can then develop goals to work towards and start implementing strategies to help achieve those goals.

Common reasons parents seek assistance:

{

“My child doesn’t interact with other kids at the playground or child care”

{

“My child seems clumsy – he drops things a lot and is messy with things like self-feeding with a spoon and colouring activities.”

{

“My child gets distressed whenever it’s time to get dressed, brush her hair or cut her nails.”

{
“I don’t feel comfortable taking my child to the supermarket or a cafe because of his unpredictable behaviour”
{
“My baby is 11 months old and isn’t crawling yet”
{
“My child is struggling to keep up with other kids on the playground”
{

“My child has a hard time paying attention and she jumps from one activity to the next.”

{
“My baby has a hard time settling and I can’t figure out why.”

These may just be normal delays, after all, we all learn and grow a bit differently. But working with your family, early intervention may help your child participate more fully in their life.

Early Primary Learning

Early Primary Years

Entering primary school is a big step in any child’s life. Expectations increase steadily over the first few years of school which can be challenging for both the child and the adults supporting them. I can help set your child up for a smooth, successful transition into the new school environment and support them through the increased demands on attention, organization and self-management, social interactions and motor skills including handwriting.
